Air Conflicts: Secret Wars

Airplane simulators are like buses, none for a while then two come along at once.

Hot on the heels of IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover we have another combat plane simulator in the guise of Air Conflicts: Secret Wars, the latest iteration of the long running series from bitComposer games.

This is another arcade airplane simulator game aimed at multiple platforms, specifically PC DVD, XBox 360 and PS3.

Features

Not being content with one war this arcade simulator spreads it’s wings to encompass both the great war and the second world war.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is campaign and mission based with a total of 7 campaigns composed of 49 missions in total spread between the two conflicts.

Missions are based around great battles of the two wars, Tobruk being just one example so there is a historical element to all of the gameplay to get you feeling more involved.

You can play as numerous protagonists from the wars, mainly the resistance movements such as the French Maquis or the Yugoslav partisans.

In addition to the missions we have a multiplayer option offering LAN or internet options for up to 8 player combat.

Aircraft

Plane selection would appear to be important too, with the developers offering a choice of 16 planes from the period, each of which has unique characteristics that match the requirements of the missions being undertaken, so choose the right plane for the job.

All of the missions have diverse goals such as patrols, escort missions and bombing runs to name but a few. Completing missions allows you to bolster up your own or your wingman’s skills for the next mission.

Control is via the trusty mouse and keyboard or the usual choice of gaming peripherals. With the game having two modes of piloting the option to use flight peripherals is a good thing.

The gameplay modes are arcade or simulation, clearly the latter is more suited to the airplane simulator enthusiasts amongst us, whilst the arcade mode will allow the pure gamer type to just get out there and frag with a more simplistic flight control system.

System Specs

We will be adding system requirements as soon as we can for the PC release as soon as we get something official.
